The City of Los Angeles is supplying the free trees...we just need to plant them!
On Saturday, April 6th, Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson's office, in partnership with the Empowerment Congress Southwest Area Neighborhood Development Council and the Korean Youth and Community Center, will be hosting a Community Clean-Up & Tree Planting Event along Western Ave.
Join us at 8:30 AM at St. Andrews Recreation Center (8701 St. Andrews Pl., L.A., CA 90047). We are in need off 60 volunteers to be trained that day to help plant trees along the Western Ave. corridor between Florence Ave. and Manchester Ave. The Clean-Up will take place along Western Ave. corridor between Florence Ave. and Century Blvd. The Los Angeles Conservation Corps will be in attendance to "assist" with the Clean-Up but the Tree Planting is all on us!
It will take 3 to 4 people to comprise a tree planting team. High and middle school scholars are welcome (proof of community service hours available). Click on the link below to sign-up.
Be a part of increasing the beauty and cleanliness within our community.
Limited light refreshments will be provided on a first come first served basis.
