ECSWANDC is excited to receive crime data by neighborhood as a starting point to develop ways to prevent crime in partnership with LAPD.

Crosstown is partnering with ECSWANDC to provide crime statistics within our boundaries. Crosstown mines data and provides analysis and geographic breakdown of records on crime, pollution and traffic. They are part of the USC Annenberg School for Journalism.

Their 2018 Crime Snapshot breaks out crime by type of crime and by neighborhood. The top crimes are theft from vehicle, domestic violence, vandalism and stolen vehicles. A quick review of the chart below shows that the crime rate in Vermont Knolls is almost triple that of Gramercy Place. We hope to continue to work with Crosstown to receive monthly crime reports. This information can be a great tool as we work with LAPD our Councilmember and others to take action against crime
